Code of conduct

SVOI Dance School seeks to maintain a pleasant and healthy educational atmosphere. For the safety of all students, the following rules will be enforced.

Students are expected to respect each other and no applicant is discriminated against on the basis of race, color, nationality, gender or ethnicity. The school takes bullying very seriously and will seek to prevent it of any sort. Students should behave respectfully to their teachers and classmates at all times and respect any rules or regulations. Students must not do or say anything that may be obscene, immoral, harmful or offensive. Repeated incidents will be reported to parents. We reserve the right to withdraw a student from class for inappropriate, destructive, or unsafe behavior, without refund.


Parental/Guardian Responsibilities

Please make sure all contact details are up to date by completing the registration form before your first lesson. It is the parents’ responsibility to keep it updated with any changes of students’ details. Please, make sure your child is brought to class on time. Parents and students should be aware of their own class timetable. School timetable information is always available on the school Website. You will be notified via email of any changes to the timetable. Children must be supervised at all-time before and after their classes and should wait quietly inside the dance studio. We must receive notice in writing if a child under 14 will be traveling alone. It is not allowed children run around the hall. Please ensure your child has been to the toilet before class to avoid disruptions of the class. Please inform your child there is no break during the class. No chewing gam during classes. It is not allowed parents in to watch ballet classes at any time. SVOI Dance School does not permit photography without permission of particular student, parent or the teacher. No photographs, or recordings of classes or performances should be posted on any social media site without the consent of SVOI Dance School. There are no child care facilities available after any lessons. Parents must ensure prompt collection of their children after classes. If a teacher is delayed because one of their students has not been collected, a charge will be made in amount of £10.


Uniform and Hair Style

Students are required to attend classes with the correct uniform and not a variation. No jewelry is to be worn at any time. Please label child’s kit. Hair is to be of an appropriate style with hair picked up in a ponytail and curved in a ban.


SVOI Dance School show

All students are expected to take part in our annual show unless prior notice has been given. SVOI Dance School asks that all participants commit fully to the rehearsal programmed and performance arrangements. Solo Choreography is studied in private lessons only.


Examination

Students will be put forward for ballet examinations by process of invitation only. This decision is made by the ballet teacher and is final. Students who have missed classes may be asked to take private lessons to catch up where necessary.


Health and Safety

The Safety and well-being of all students is the highest priority of SVOI Dance School. Regular risk assessments are made of all venues. In-house policies for each venue used are followed. Any accident your child may have during class will be dealt with accordingly and an accident form completed. You will be made aware of any accidents and we will ask you to sign the accident form.


Concerns or Complaints

It is our aim that both parents and students should feel that any concerns and / or complaints are listened to and taken seriously and dealt with promptly. The concerns should be mailed to the school immediately. All communications should be sent in writing via email stating the student’s full name and nature of the concern/ complaint. You will receive an acknowledgment of your concern raised and we would aim to have a formal response within five working days. Complaints/concerns raised via social media will not be acknowledged.


Physical contact

Where appropriate the teacher may use physical contact to support teaching. Contact is made with the awareness of the needs of the individual students where corrections are necessary.


Payment of fees

Fees must be paid previously at list by the second week of term and it is not refundable. Late fees will incur a late payment charge of £10. If your child missed a class, you can join another class instead.
